• MONTHLY WINNERS: open each month, for example: “For the competition of the month of October 2008, pictures submitted between the 1st of October and the 31st of October will be eligible for the October prize.”

YOUR RIGHTS AS A PHOTOGRAPHER:

• “Entrants agree that, in relation to any photographs selected as winning photographs, they grant Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH and Panasonic Corporation companies and other members of the Panasonic Group an exclusive licence to use images for 5 years at no charge for their marketing and promotional activities. Winners will be given an authorship credit in respect of any published reproductions of their photographs made by Panasonic or its agents.”
• The winning pictures may be shown in the Panasonic General Catalogue and may be shown in other media as well, such as advertisements, cards, web, etc.

Note that only images taken with digital cameras are accepted.

“Celebrate an extraordinary place to live – Earth.

We live on an incredible planet. From the biggest, bustling metropolises, to seemingly barren plains, our planet is bursting with all kinds of life. We’re its beneficiaries, and its caretakers.

What makes our planet so alive? Is it the more than 6.5 billion human beings going about their business? The changing climate, or conservation efforts? Is it frenetic cities or untamed wilderness?”

PRIZES

Overall winner – the single best digital still image received – wins:

• A 5-day trip for two to Cornwall, England, including two 3-day passes to the Eden Project, where the winner and his/her guest can experience and explore its global garden.
• Lumix DMC-G1 digital camera.

Two runners-up (2nd and 3rd place) win a compact camera Lumix LX3, a digital camera featuring true 16:9 format.

Monthly Winners win a Lumix FZ28 digital camera.
