The head on that image is a 3-way head &lt;em&gt;(other names: tilt&amp;swing head, axis head, pan-tilt head)&lt;/em&gt; that uses &lt;strong&gt;handles&lt;/strong&gt; for control. This is probably the word you are looking for. I hope that answers your question.
